School Year Before School: 6:30 a.m. - 8 a.m.
School Year After School: 1:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. (Mondays)
School Year After School: 3:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. (Tuesday-Friday)
School Breaks and Camps: 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Robins School Age Program provides care for children
ages 5-12 who are eligible family members of active duty and DOD
civilians Our Program is accredited by the National After school
Alliance (NAA).- In order to become accredited the program, the program
has to maintain compliance with national standards that are designed to
describe the best practices in our of school programs for children ages
5-12. Accreditation standards are aimed at helping programs support and
enhance the overall development of the child while focusing on continual
program improvement.
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide safe, well-supervised,
reliable, and appropriate out-of-school care for children, kindergarten
through sixth grade, while supporting military and DoD civilian
personnel in balancing the competing demands of family life and
accomplishment of the DoD mission.
SCHOOL-AGE PHILOSOPHY
Robin’s School Age Programs provide
safe, enriching, supervised environments for children and youth during
out of school time. Individual interests, experiences, abilities and
needs guide the programming. Children have the right to be heard,
listened to the influence decisions. We promote experiences and
opportunities that enhance rather than duplicate the school day. Our
programs maintain an atmosphere that encourages flexibility and allows
for freedom of choice within appropriate guidelines. We strive to
reinforce family values and emphasize the uniqueness of each child by
promoting positive attitudes and validating self-worth.
GOALS
Personal Development-supporting
positive self-concept, fostering independence and life skills,
encouraging responsibility.
Social Development-establishing
friendships, learning social skills, gaining social support, developing
a sense of community teamwork.
Physical Development-building
physical and recreational skills, appreciating the ability to rest and
relax Cognitive Development-advancing success in school, exploring new
ideas and facts.
SCHOOL-AGE FEES AND CHARGES
Fees are set by DOD guidelines and
if there are changes to fees the changes will only take place the
beginning of school year. Fees are based upon total family income.
STAFF QUALIFICATIONS
All School-Age Program Assistants
working with your children are trained in school-age care and must
complete the Air Force School Age training modules. We provide training
in all key areas of the NAA standards to include health/safety,
administration, interactions and relationships. All staff is First Aid
and CPR certified. . The training program is on-going and designed to
ensure staff is current in program policies and procedures as well as
acceptable youth development trends.
A minimum of two School Age
personnel is always on duty in the facility regardless to the number of
children present. The adult to child ratio for routine activities for
children 5-12 years old is 1:12. Ratios for high-risk activities are
lower and vary according to the activities. Our center is certified and
recognized by DoD as a School-Age Program.
